Pressure mounts on Germany as Ukraine urges faster arms supplies

Western and Ukrainian officials are piling pressure on Germany to approve the transfer of heavy battle tanks to Ukraine to help in the war against Russia.

Ben Wallace, the United Kingdom’s defence minister, said on Monday the move could unlock support from other nations ahead of a United States-hosted meeting later this week to discuss further military aid to Kyiv.
