The Premier League have confirmed fans will be given at least six weeks' notice of any fixture changes to accommodate the wishes of broadcasters in the new campaign.
That assurance runs until December when the six weeks' notice will drop to five in the second half of the campaign up to and including the run-in.
In a bid to give supporters more time to plan travel and accomodation, the Premier League hope their pledge will avoid some of the issues seen last season.
Newcastle United fans highlighted their displeasure back in April when news of the St James' Park clash with Leicester City was moved from Saturday afternoon to Monday night at the request of Sky Sports, and news of the change was delayed leading to yet more criticism of the way in which fans are treated.

Bosses at the Premier League also came in for heat when Arsenal's game with Chelsea was moved with just two weeks' notice, and now they have pledged to give supporters as much notice as possible, with the league apologising to Toon supporters and the other 19 clubs.
“The Premier League apologises to supporters for the delay in announcing the broadcast selections for Match Round 37 (20-21 May)," the Premier League said in a statement after fans aired their frustrations. We will provide an update on this set of fixtures early next week.”
Eddie Howe's men begin their campaign on August 12 with a home clash against Europa Conference League side Aston Villa in front of the TV cameras, before a tasty trip to reigning champions Manchester City the following weekend.
That trip to the Etihad Stadium is followed up by the visit of Liverpool to St James' Park, and though not yet confirmed, it's likely those two games will be picked for broadcast by either Sky Sports or TNT Sports.
The Magpies were shown live on television 26 times last term in the top flight, and that number may well now increase given the greater focus on the Tyneside outfit.
