The fixture list for the 2022/23 Premier League season will be announced on Thursday morning as Arsenal wait to discover who they'll be up against first.
If a two-year trend of facing the Championship play-off final winner continues then the Gunners have a tough away trip on their hands - which could be regarded as the dreaded scenario given they've been beaten by Nottingham Forest in each of their last two visits to the City Ground.
Unlike draws for European competitions, there is no seeding for Premier League fixtures, meaning Arsenal can be pitted against any one of the other 19 teams in the division which raises the prospect of either an exciting or daunting opening day match-up for Mikel Arteta to navigate.
