The Premier League have acted quickly to try and show that they have not leaked one of the opening games of the 2022/23 season.
It appeared that the Twitter account of the company had accidentally shown that title-holders Manchester City would be taking on newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the campaign. But it appeared to be a mishap by the admin of the account rather than a truthful tweet.
City announced that they had completed the signing of Erling Haaland on Monday, joining the club from Borussia Dortmund after becoming one of the most exciting young players in world football in the Bundesliga. And the Premier League appeared to hint that his first match in England would be against Bournemouth.
