Labor showdown looms as premier refuses to quit

Jacinta Allan has dug in her heels as the defiant Victorian premier stares down a leadership challenge that could drag on for weeks.

The state Labor leader refused to resign after a cross-faction delegation informed her she had lost majority support of party MPs, paving the way for a leadership spill on Tuesday.
