Pregnant Olivia Bowen admits her 'anxiety is in overdrive' as she nears due date

Former Love Island star Olivia Bowen has opened up about her "rollercoaster" pregnancy as she says it has not been easy.

As she nears her due date, the 28-year-old took to Instagram stories earlier this month where she told her fans it has not been a "perfect journey" and has been a "turbulent couple of weeks."

Back in January, the former Love Island star confirmed the exciting news she was expecting her first baby with husband Alex Bowen and has been giving fans regular updates on her pregnancy journey.

Speaking to her 2.9million Instagram followers, Olivia said the third trimester has hit her "like a ton of bricks" as she has been "super emotional and down".

She added: "I also had Covid so that really rocked me for a week.

"My anxiety was in overdrive and I suffered a really bad panic attack, probably the worst I've had. I haven't had one in years so that was all a bit much."

However, Olivia said she is now feeling "back to herself."

A source told new! that friends have applauded Olivia for speaking out, adding: "Olivia's friends are proud of her for being real about her anxiety online.

"She will be the most amazing mum. Her family have told her to take it easy on herself. She's also started having a go at mediation to try and help."

The source went on to say her husband Alex has been "good as gold" and they will be "wonderful parents".

Olivia previously spoke out about the pressure on pregnant women to do things a certain way as she said despite countless messages of support, she has been ridiculed by "the mum police".

In an honest piece to Grazia magazine, she said: "There has been a lot of overwhelming pressure from the Mum Police.

"And it’s not just influencers or celebs that get this unsolicited advice, judgement and terrifying accounts of what motherhood looks like. Everything mothers do (and mums-to-be) seems to be up for discussion and scrutiny."
