Pregnant mum dies after horror motorway smash which left three kids badly hurt

A pregnant mum has tragically died after a horror crash on a motorway which also left three children badly hurt.

Frankie Hough was travelling along the M66 in Bury, Lancashire, on Saturday afternoon with her two children, Tommy nine, and Rocky, two, when they were involved in a smash.

The 38-year-old’s nephew, Tobias, four, was also a passenger in the stricken vehicle, the Mirror reports.

All four vehicle occupants, from Chadderton in Oldham, were taken to hospital by air ambulance. Frankie, who was pregnant, has since died.

Adil Iqbal, of Hope Street, Accrington, Lancashire, stands charged with causing death by dangerous driving; and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Mr Iqbal appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 15.

Following the crash, Sergeant Matt Waggett from GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "I would like to thank the members of the public who selflessly helped at the scene and called 999, as well as those who assisted when police and emergency services arrived on scene."
