Pregnant Laura Anderson opens up on relationship with ex Gary Lucy and says it's been a 'rollercoaster'

Scots Love Island star Laura Anderson has opened up on her difficult relationship with her ex Gary Lucy as she prepares to give birth to their first child.

The 34-year-old mum-to-be told OK! Magazine that she initially wanted to reconcile with her ex.

The couple, who enjoyed a whirlwind romance after meeting on E4's Celebs Go Dating, surprised fans earlier this year when they announced that they were expecting a baby but shortly after, called it quits.

Laura was reportedly left devastated when Gary announced the gender of her baby without her knowledge. The former Hollyoaks actor told his Instagram followers that the pair were expecting a girl, but Laura is believed to have been hoping to keep the news private until later this year.

In an exclusive interview with OK!, Laura showed off her growing bump, and admitted that her pregnancy has been a "bit of a rollercoaster so far".

She said: “Going through a public break-up while pregnant and reading mistruths in the media has been a challenge. I just want to be positive and move forward, and I’m really excited about her coming along. I think if I can get through this, I can get through anything."

Laura went on to talk about the claims that they split because he wouldn't move to Scotland with her because he wanted to be near his four children with ex-wife Natasha Gray.

The Scots influencer insists that it's simply "not true" and that she was always going to move to Essex, and she said that their break-up was "hard to explain".

Revealing that she had initially wanted to reconcile and work things out, she alluded to eventually being unable to do so because of "things [she] found out since then" and "the fact that nothing has been discussed or resolved".

Laura added: "I think for now I’m trying to just be positive and think about the baby and be strong, because everything became too chaotic.”

The Love Island star went on to reveal that her baby girl will have a traditional name instead of a Disney-inspired one.
