The Championship automatic promotion race has suddenly got a little bit more interesting thanks to Nottingham Forest’s stunning run of form.
After five league wins on the spin and a streak of 10 unbeaten, the Reds are the in-form team in the division. And they are up to third in the table.
Just six points separate them from second-placed Bournemouth, with seven matches left to play. And the two sides still have to face each other.

Goals from Keinan Davis and Scott McKenna toppled Birmingham City on Saturday in a convincing 2-0 victory. That made it three from three for Steve Cooper’s side since returning from the international break, and got fans debating whether automatic promotion might be a possibility.
The Easter weekend could prove to be key. After a few days’ rest, Forest go to fifth-placed Luton Town on Friday, followed by a home clash with West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
The Cherries, meanwhile, host Middlesbrough and then make the trip to face Coventry City. They go into those games having won three of their last seven.
It promises to be an interesting, and nervy, sprint to the finish line. But there’s no question the Reds have plenty of belief and fighting spirit about them.
Can they gatecrash top-two? Is a play-off place now very much on the cards?
