NAGPUR: Youngest World Cup chess finalist R Praggnanandhaa has reached a new high in his budding career. The 18-year-old has jumped nine places to achieve a career-high 20th rank in the world and has become India's new No. 3 behind his Chennai mates D Gukesh and mentor Viswanathan Anand.
As per the live rating, the Chennai boy has jumped nine places compared to the published rating list of Aug 1 and taken his 2707 rating points to 2727.2 Elo. On his way up, he pipped Harikrishna Pentala (2711) and Vidit Gujarathi (2723) to become the third-highest ranked Indian.
