Going into the 2025 NFL Draft, there are plenty of questions surrounding the quarterback group of this class. One name that has consistently remained near the top of a short list has been Georgia quarterback Carson Beck. Having taken over a stacked team last season, Beck looked every bit the potential franchise quarterback and he looked to build upon that going into this season, but Beck hit a bit of a speed bump against a tough Alabama defense.

Alabama took a huge 23-point lead early on in part due to the poor play of Beck, who turned the ball over three times on a night where he looked genuinely flustered by what the Crimson Tide was throwing at him. While Beck did eventually rally the team back to within a score in the second half, he ultimately threw a game-sealing interception in the end zone on a ball that really should have been thrown better.

This game has undoubtedly brought a negative light to Beck’s draft stock and is a game that scouts and media alike are going to point to for both the good and the bad. Some of his decision-making was downright abysmal, but despite that, he was able to rally an almost comeback after being majorly down from his own mistakes. Beck will have plenty of time to improve and try to improve his draft stock for the rest of the season, but he will need to play better moving forward.
