Porn star Stormy Daniels has met with criminal prosecutors investigating hush money paid to her on behalf of former US president Donald Trump.
Her lawyer Clark Brewster said the adult actress, 43, today met and answered questions from Manhattan district attorneys.
They have convened a grand jury that is looking into the payment made just weeks before the 2016 US election.
Mr Brewster tweeted that Daniels - real name Stephanie Clifford - would make herself available as a witness or for further questions if needed.
He wrote: "At the request of the Manhattan DA’s office Stormy Daniels and I met with prosecutors today. Stormy responded to questions and has agreed to make herself available as a witness, or for further inquiry if needed."
The lawyer signed off "teamstormy".
Manhattan district attorney's office has yet to respond for comment.
Daniels tweeted her thanks to the lawyer for "helping me in our continuing fight for truth and justice”.
Just before the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump's then-lawyer Michael Cohen said he paid Daniels $130,000 dollars (£108,000) on the then-candidate's behalf.
At the time, she was in negotiations to tell her story on television.
Daniels, 43, claims to have slept with Trump in 2006, which he denies while calling her “horse face”.
He was married to former First Lady Melania Trump, who had given birth to their son Barron less than six months before their alleged brief fling.
New York prosecutors have formed a grand jury to determine whether Trump should in indicted.
Last month he took to his Truth Social platform to discuss her allegations.
He wrote: “With respect to the ‘Stormy’ nonsense, it is VERY OLD & happened a long time ago, long past the very publicly known & accepted deadline of the Statute of Limitations placed full Reliance on the JUDGEMENT & ADVICE OF COUNCIL, who I had every reason to believe had a license to practice law, was competent, & was able to appropriately provide solid legal services.”
In response, Daniels posted a screenshot of Trump's Truth Social post before tweeting: "Thanks for just admitting that I was telling the truth about EVERYTHING.
"Guess I'll take my 'horse face' back to bed now, Mr. former 'president.'"
Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen previously admitted to paying £108,000 to Daniels to keep her silent during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.
The attorney told a judge at the time that they were made "in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office”.
If Trump is found to have paid the money to prevent Daniels from speaking out, it could contravene campaign finance laws.
If convicted, Trump risks felony-level charges, which could carry a jail term.
