A seafood restaurant hailed an "asset to Ayr" has become the latest casualty of the worsening financial climate.
Bosses at The Rockpool — a family-run eaterie in the town's Queen's Court — said they had been left with "no option" but to permanently pull down the shutters.
The business had won rave reviews for its standard of cuisine since opening at the height of the Covid pandemic.
