A POPULAR pizza chain is set to open its first restaurant in Scotland, with a new 135-cover venue in Glasgow.
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana has announced it will open on Gordon Street in the city's centre this autumn, with work already under way at the site.
The Glasgow restaurant will be the Manchester-born chain’s first Scottish location and its 42nd across the UK.
Rudy’s opened its first pizzeria in Manchester’s Ancoats neighbourhood in 2015 and has since expanded across the country.
The chain specialises in traditional Neapolitan pizza, using double-fermented dough and ingredients sourced from Italy.
It is accredited by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), an international organisation which aims to protect and promote traditional Neapolitan pizza-making.
Rudy’s was also ranked 23rd in the world by the 50 Top Pizza guide in 2025.
Menu favourites include the Cinghiale (wild boar), Margherita Con Bufala, and Triple Pepperoni, alongside traditional options such as the classic Margherita.
The company said establishing a restaurant in Scotland had been a long-term ambition.
Neal Bates, managing director of Rudy’s, said: “Establishing a Scottish home for Rudy’s has long been an ambition of ours, so we can’t wait to welcome the people of Glasgow through our doors.
“Although known for the people who make it, the city has such a vibrant and diverse food and drink scene that we are buzzing to become part of, as we say ciao to our new neighbours and celebrate our opening.”
The opening will also create a number of jobs in Glasgow, with roles available for front- and back-of-house staff as well as supervisors.
Recruitment days for full and part-time positions are expected to take place closer to the restaurant’s opening.
Rudy’s Glasgow will open at 35 Gordon Street in the city centre this autumn, although an exact opening date has yet to be announced.
