A popular pub in Birkenhead has reopened after a huge £174k investment.
The Claughton Hotel reopened on September 22, and now promises 'plenty of entertainment' with Friday night karaoke, a disco, live music and local bands. Local artists lined up including Yozza, Revolution Band, as well as DJ and pub Operator Wayne to take to the stage to entertain guests throughout the night.
The pub based on Upton Road has a new look bot inside and out with new furnishings and fittings, refreshed flooring and more seating. The pub that dates back to 1850 also has a new colour scheme.

Stephanie Watson, refurbishment operator at The Claughton Hotel, said: "We’re so happy with the refurbishment and guests are loving our new look and entertainment line-up. We are a local pub based in the heart of the community, so to be open once again and see our regulars enjoying themselves is such a good feeling."
Visitors of the pub can enjoy a choice of eleven big TVs to watch all of the biggest and best fixtures with BT Sport and Sky Sports shown daily. There's also a new pool table, illuminated darts board and gaming machine.
Stephanie added: "Between our range of TVs available to catch all the best live sport and our darts board, pool table and gaming machines, we’ve got so many ways to keep our guests entertained. Whilst, of course, enjoying our great range of drinks from behind the bar."
