HYDERABAD: TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the elections to the five state assemblies, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, cannot be considered as a semi-final to 2024 general elections.
KCR said BJP’s strength in terms of number of assembly seats and its support among the people will come down in Uttar Pradesh although it may or may not win the election.
“The election results of UP assembly will expose the BJP which is losing its support base and traction among the people. This will act as a platform for the downfall of the saffron party in 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” said KCR.
On the talk in political circles that he may go for early elections in Telangana, he said: “I am not going for an early election. The TRS is on solid ground and would win 95 to 105 of the total 119 assembly seats in Telangana when the elections are held as per schedule.”
