Earlier this week, we ran a poll asking which player Lions fans preferred the most with the No. 6 overall pick.
Those polling results are now final, and we have two clear-cut choices at the top.
With Georgia DT Jalen Carter, Alabama EDGE Will Anderson, Alabama QB Bryce Young and Kentucky QB Will Levis all off the board and excluded from the polling, Lions fans had a clear preference for defense.
Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon captured over 25 percent of the voting. With more than 6,000 votes cast, it’s a pretty strong sampling in favor of Witherspoon.
Clemson DT Bryan Bresee was next, the only other player capturing over 20 percent of the votes. Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson and Ohio State QB C.J Stroud each topped 10 percent. Last on the list was Texas RB Bijan Robinson at just 3.7 percent.
In last year’s poll from the same timeframe, Georgia LB Nakobe Dean was the winner as the preference for the No. 2 overall pick, followed by Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux and Liberty QB Malik Willis.
