Poland's President Andrzej Duda held a meeting with the CEO of Lockheed Martin, Jim Taiclet, to discuss reinforcing security in the region and ensuring continued investment by the United States in Poland's military weapons and equipment, according to the country's National Security Bureau. The talks focused on strengthening the participation of Poland's defense sector in the delivery and maintenance of various U.S. weapons, including jet fighters, Javelin missiles, and elements of the High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).
Lockheed Martin, a prominent U.S. manufacturer, produces the Javelin missiles, HIMARS, and certain jet fighters. With more than 10,000 U.S. troops stationed in Poland, primarily in the Rzeszow region near the Ukrainian border, the meeting aimed to address the security concerns in the area, particularly in light of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
