Police watchdog investigating Glasgow cop who 'body-slammed' boy

A POLICE watchdog is investigating a Glasgow cop after he allegedly "body-slammed" a schoolboy to the ground.

An officer was previously filmed appearing to grab the youth and throw him on the ground before falling on top of him in an incident at a Glasgow school.

It is understood that a 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with a breach of the peace and a 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an assault following the alleged incident on Wednesday, April 26.

The father of the boy said he was "sickened to the core" by the footage and has made a formal complaint to Police Scotland about the alleged excessive use of force.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has now confirmed to the Glasgow Times that they have enlisted the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) to investigate the alleged incident on April 26, 2023.

Police Scotland said it was unable to comment.
