A stationary police vehicle was hit by a car near the M4. The officer's vehicle was stationary on the M4, J25 interchange roundabout, Newport, at around 5.10pm on Saturday, July 1 when the incident happened.
Additional officers were alerted to the incident and attended to assist with traffic management. Gwent Police said the collision involved a grey Seat Leon.
The force has now sent out an appeal to witnesses at the roundabout, or those with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch to aid their enquiries.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 5.10pm a stationary police vehicle was hit on the M4 junction 25 interchange roundabout, Caerleon Road, Newport. Additional officers attended to assist with traffic management. The collision involved a grey Seat Leon.
"We’re asking for anyone who was on the roundabout at around this time or those with CCTV or dashcam footage to call us on 101 or send us a direct message on Facebook or Twitter, quoting log reference 2200220886, with any details. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
