Police are urgently trying to trace a man who was involved in a serious car crash in the early hours of Friday morning.
Officers are treating Stephen Duncan from Banff, Aberdeenshire, as a missing person and believe he may require medical assistance.
The 57-year-old was involved in a one-vehicle collision around 1am on Friday, on the B9025, three miles outside Turriff.
Police were called to the scene when a Suzuki Celerio crashed and was left damaged on the road.
Enquiries have now established that Stephen was the driver and although officers briefly spoke to him on the phone, they have been unable to trace or contact him since.
Stephen is described as being around 5ft 8, with receding grey hair and glasses. Officer are concerned he might require medical attention and are urgently trying to locate him.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to get in touch.
Inspector Jennifer Cordiner, from Fraserburgh Police Station, said: “Given that Stephen may have been involved in a serious crash, we are trying to trace him as a matter of urgency due to concerns he may require medical attention.
"Officers have carried out a search in the area and also at his home address, with no result.
“We are asking anyone who may have information on Stephen’s whereabouts to come forward and call police on 101, quoting incident 0144 of 30 September.”
