Police have released an update after a body was discovered in the River Trent, just over the Nottinghamshire border. Lincolnshire Police were called to the river in Gainsborough at 8.10am on Thursday, July 6.
People were urged not to approach the area by officers while investigations took place into the discovery, which was being treated as unexplained. A police presence was also in place around the area for some time.
In an update published on the Lincolnshire Police website on Friday, July 7, it was confirmed that work at the scene had now concluded. A spokesperson for the force added in an official statement: "Following investigations, we are not treating this incident as suspicious.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner following formal identification."
