Avon and Somerset Police has said it will have enhanced security at this year's Glastonbury festival. With more than 200,000 people expected at the event each day officers are keen to ensure they have high visibility for both festival-goers and the local community.
A neighbourhood-style policing operation will be carried out with uniformed officers, officers on horseback and officers on bicycles. This is to ensure everyone attending and those who live nearby are kept safe, the force says.
Police are encouraging revellers to approach them for a chat or to collect mobile phone pouches that will be handed out again this year. A statement released by the force said: "To enhance security, we will also be carrying out Project Servator deployments in and around the festival site.
