Police have shut down Ayrshire's biggest road this afternoon amid reports of a serious crash.
Officers have halted traffic from using the Ayr exit from the Bellfield Interchange.
A police vehicle is currently parked across the slip road.
Traffic heading to Ayr is being diverted via the A71 to Irvine.
Traffic Scotland has said that all lanes southbound at Grassyards have been closed on the A77.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix states: "A77 Kilmarnock Road Southbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved from A71 (Bellfield Interchange) to B730 ( Bogend ). Affecting traffic heading towards Ayr."
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
