"It's so unusual for him," she said. "I've sent about 25 messages and he always usually responds saying he is OK, even if he was a bit down. There has just been no contact whatsoever, there is just no sign of him.
"If anybody sees him please get in touch straight away, we want to let him know that he is loved, we all love him and we want him to come home safe, everybody is just in absolute bits. It's awful."
On Tuesday night, West Yorkshire Police released new images of Anthony. The CCTV footage is the last known sighting of him at Tesco in Tingley at 9.38pm on Sunday.
He can be seen wearing a black Jack Jones hoody. Police say he was also wearing dark blue chino trousers, and aqua and grey Adidas trainers.
Anthony is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, medium build, with short grey hair and has two swallow bird tattoos on either side of his neck.
Anyone who has seen him or who has any information that could assist in tracing him is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting log 1988 of August 21.
