Merseyside Police has confirmed there will be no police charges following an altercation involving Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira.
Merseyside Police provided the update shortly after 12pm today, May 23, following enquiries into the altercation after Everton FC's match v Crystal Palace on May 19. Breaking the news via Everton FC 's matchday police officers' Twitter account, Merseyside Police confirmed enquiries into the altercation between Vieira and a fan had concluded.
Vieira was confronted by the fan as he made his way off the pitch following Everton FC 's 3-2 win that confirmed the Toffees' Premier League survival. Footage circulated widely on social media showed the fan approach Vieira who appeared to react to something the fan said.

Vieira attempted to grab hold of the fan before kicking him to the ground. Vieira was then escorted from the field by a number of Everton FC fans.
When questioned about the incident by the media Vieira said: "I have nothing to say about that.” Merseyside Police confirmed today "both men had been spoken to and the opportunity to make a formal complaint or support a prosecution was declined".
