Police officers bitten by dog after they find owner high on ketamine behind wheel of a car

Two police officers were bitten by a dog after finding its owner unconscious, slumped at the steering wheel of her car. A neighbour had alerted police after spotting her "out of it".

Bridgette Wrighton, of Ashleigh Close in Paulton, had been over the drug-drive limit when police found her, with her eyes dilated and speech slurred. She told officers she needed to use the toilet in her house and warned them her dog, Sammy, would lick them before then saying it would bite them.

The officers entered Wrighton's home before her where they encountered the dog, who was usually kept in a separate room due to being nervous around people - especially men - following a history of abuse. A male officer was bitten by the dog in the house, before a female officer was bitten in the front garden.
