Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that 26 people were arrested for a number of offences on the first day of this year’s Parklife festival.
The festival, held at Heaton Park, has been celebrating its first summer time event since the pandemic, with performances from 50 Cent, Lewis Capaldi, Megan Thee Stallion and Tyler, The Creator.
On Saturday (June 11), 26 people were arrested, with a large majority - 18 - of them being for drugs offences. 15 people were arrested for possession with intent to supply while three were arrested for possessing a controlled drug or substance.

Two people were arrested for public order and a further two were apprehended for drunk and disorderly behaviour. One person was arrested for the possession of an offensive weapon while another was detained for immigration.
In addition, one person was arrested for sexual assault and another for common assault.
Over the years, Parklife bosses have been proactive about trying to cut down on drug use at the festival. CIC The Loop has its own hub onsite where people can seek advice and get drug testing. The scheme launched at The Warehouse Project in 2013 and has been at Parklife since 2014.
At last year's festival, warnings were issued after three identical looking ‘Pharaoh’ pills containing substances were 'linked to medical incidents'. At the 2021 event, 'several' people were reported to have been taken ill at the Parklife festival and attended to by event medics.
