Police keen to trace four witnesses following stabbing on busy train near Beckenham Junction

Detectives have released images of four witnesses they are keen to trace, after a man was stabbed on board a London train in front of horrified passengers.

Rakeem Thomas, 19, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon following the incident, which happened near Beckenham Junction at roughly 4pm on March 27.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital where he was later said to be in a “critical but stable condition”.

British Transport Police (BTP) on Tuesday issued CCTV images of four men, who they believe “may have critical information” regarding the attack.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Marc Farmer said: “We are releasing these images of four people thought to be witnesses in an attempted murder investigation.

“I would like to stress these people are not suspected of any criminal activity, but they may have important information that will help our investigation.

“If this is you, or you know anyone pictured, please text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 397 of 27 March."
