Police issue appeal to trace Paisley man last seen in Rangers top

Cops in Paisley are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man last seen walking down the street in a Rangers top.

John Strathearn was reportedly seen walking in the area of Netherhill Crescent in Gallowhill at around 1pm on Monday July 25. The 34-year-old is described as being white, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build and with short brown hair.

Police have issued a description of the clothing he was wearing in a bid to jog local memories. When last seen he was wearing a navy Nike tracksuit, a red and black Rangers football top, a blue Trespass jacket and blue and white Adidas trainers. He was also carrying a black holdall bag.

Renfrewshire division officers say there are "growing concerns" for John's welfare and have urged members of the public to get in touch if they have seen him in the last day.

Sergeant Scott Lamont of Police Scotland said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for John’s welfare and would urge anyone who may have seen him, or has any information on his whereabouts, to contact police.

"Local officers are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace him.

"I would ask that anyone who believes they may have seen John, or who has any other information, contacts us on 101, quoting reference 2976 of Monday, 25 July, 2022."
