Police in Darwin searching for driver who allegedly hit female pedestrian at Jingili petrol station

A 30-year-old woman has escaped with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car allegedly driven by a person known to her at a Darwin petrol station, according to Northern Territory police.

Police are calling for witnesses to the incident they say happened at a service station on McMillans Road in the suburb of Jingili just before 7:30pm on Thursday night.

A green Pajero was reportedly driven at the woman and a 31-year-old man at 7:25pm.

Police said the car hit the woman before colliding with the service station's ice machine.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement police said the driver of the car, who they believe is known to the victims, had left the scene.

The serious crime unit is investigating and asking any witnesses to get in contact with police.
