Police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver after a woman in her 60s was killed in a crash in north-west London in the early hours.

Paramedics and Met police officers were called to the collision on the A4006 Kingsbury Road in Kingsbury, Brent, around 12.25am on Thursday.

“The injured woman, aged in her 60s, was treated by medics, but despite their efforts she sadly died at the scene,” said a Met spokesperson.

The woman’s next-of-kin have been informed.

Police say a driver in a car had crashed into the woman, but they had driven away from the scene by the time officers arrived.

Detectives are investigating the crash and have urged anyone with information, or who knows the identity of the driver, to get in touch.

The crash is understood to have happened near to Kingsbury Road’s junction with Roe Green. A crime scene remained in place there around midday on Thursday, almost 12 hours after the crash.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, has dashcam footage, or who knows the identity of the driver should call police on 101 or post on X @MetCC quoting 153/7NOV.

To remain anonymous you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
