Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Bishopton area of Renfrewshire last night.
Officers were called to a report of a man having been seriously assaulted outside a premises in Greenock Road around 9.45pm on Sunday (May 1).
The 34-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment of a serious head injury after being struck with a weapon.
Extensive enquiries have revealed four male suspects were involved in the incident.
The first suspect is described as in his 20s, of slim build, with short dark hair.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with white inside the hood, a black gilet, black bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.
The second suspect is described as in his 20’s, tall, of slim build, with a shaved head.
He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey/khaki jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers.
There is currently no descriptions for the other two men.
The suspects are understood to have left the area in an unknown vehicle.
Detective Constable James Campbell said: "This incident saw a man sustain a serious head injury and it is vital we trace those involved.
"I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
"I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact us."
