Police cordon off road close to where Nicola Bulley disappeared

Police have cordoned off a road near to where Nicola Bulley disappeared.

The mum-of-two was last seen 23 days ago when on a walk with her dog Willow on the River Wyre in Lancashire. A photographer at the scene told the Mirror: "It all happened so fast. Police have sealed all the road off."

Divers are also searching the river and a police helicopter is circling the area close to where Nicola went missing, it has been reported. The news comes after more than three weeks into the disappearance of the mortgage advisor which has triggered a huge investigation.

Lancashire Police said the its main hypothesis is that the 45-year-old had fallen into the river between 9.10am and 9.20am on the day she went missing. The search for her has since been extended to the sea. Nicola was last seen walking her dog by the river at about 9.10am on January 27, having earlier dropped off her two daughters at school in St Michaels on Wyre.

Around 20 minutes later, a member of the public recognised Nicola's springer spaniel Willow and found her phone on a nearby bench. Lancashire Police have been approached for comment.
