Police 'concerned for welfare' of woman who went missing from Scots town

Police searching for a woman who vanished overnight from Renfrewshire are 'growing increasingly concerned for her welfare'.

Harshita Gottipatti was last seen at around 9.45am in the Millarston area of Paisley on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old may also go by the name of Harshita Atei, according to officers from Police Scotland.

She is described as of Indian ethnicity, five foot eight inches tall and of a medium build, with long black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen she was wearing a knee-length, brown woollen coat, grey tracksuit bottoms, blue trainers and either black or white headphones.

Officers say her disappearance is 'completely out of character' and ask anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Gardner said: "We are becoming concerned for the whereabouts of Harshita and as time goes on we are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare, as this is completely out of character.

"Anyone who may have seen Harshita or has any information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3386 of February 22."
