Video footage shows the moment police were forced to close a road as a huge structure made a tight turn on the back of a vehicle in Bolton.
In the tense clip shared by Greater Manchester Police Traffic on Wednesday night (January 18), the vehicle can be seen transporting the structure, understood to be for the Salterhebble Bridge scheme on the A629 in West Yorkshire.
Earlier in the week, on Monday (January 16), traffic along Lostock Lane and De Havilland Way was stopped again by police after two 56-tonne structures were transported away from nearby Severfield steel works.
The large structure, called an 'abnormal load' can be seen being transported on the vehicle, provided by Collette and Sons, a company that specialises in heavy transport and haulage. Cars were stopped as the huge structure was moved before drivers were thanked for their patience.
GMP Traffic tweeted: "#CVU assisted #CollettsHaulage again tonight to escort this abnormal load from #Severfield Engineering @GmpBolton along De Havilland Way onto the motorway.
"Another very long bridge beam and a job well done by all, no issues. BIG thanks to the public again for their patience."
