Police CCTV appeal after man attacked in Nottingham supermarket

Police have released a CCTV image of a person they want to speak to after a man was attacked in a city supermarket and left with a fractured eye socket. Officers said the victim was punched in the face a number of times during the attack at A Star Supermarket, in Alfreton Road, Radford.

The incident was reported shortly after 12.30pm on December 18. The victim required medical treatment in hospital after a dispute broke out over the purchase of tobacco.

Police have now released an image of a person who they'd like to speak to in connection with the investigation. Investigator Natalie Gooderham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an appalling assault which left the victim with significant facial injuries and feeling extremely shaken and upset.

“As part of our ongoing inquiries we are asking anyone who recognises the man in the footage to please contact us as soon as possible as we believe he many have information which could assist us with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 272 of December 18, 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
