Polestar EVs to become chauffeur cars at this countryside members’ club

Polestar is taking its electric cars into the world of private members’ clubs after teaming up with Long Lane, a countryside retreat that combines a club, hotel and public restaurant with a strong focus on health and wellness.

The partnership will see Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 electric SUVs used as Long Lane’s house chauffeur cars, giving members and hotel guests the chance to be driven to and from the estate and explore the surrounding area. It’s part of a wider tie-up between the two brands built around sustainability, design, wellbeing and what they describe as a more considered take on modern luxury.

Long Lane sits in 55 acres of West Sussex countryside and was created around the idea of making health and wellness part of everyday life rather than something saved for the occasional retreat. Polestar says the link brings that approach together with its own focus on electric cars, sustainable materials, comfort and design, with the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 becoming part of the day-to-day experience for people staying at or visiting the Midhurst estate.

There’s more to the partnership than the cars, too. Polestar and Long Lane are planning a series of quarterly activities throughout the year, bringing together their respective communities for members’ gatherings, outdoor experiences, driving events and creative collaborations. The programme will focus on the overlap between health, wellness and sustainability, while also looking at how technology, design and innovation can play a part in healthier and more conscious lifestyles.

It’s an unusual setting for a pair of electric SUVs, but the idea is to make the cars part of the Long Lane experience rather than simply putting them on display. They’ll be available to members and hotel guests as chauffeur cars, providing transport around the estate and local area without tailpipe emissions, while the events programme will give Polestar another way to introduce its cars and wider sustainability message to Long Lane’s community.

Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar UK says: “Polestar and Long Lane share a belief that modern luxury can be both progressive and responsible. Together, we’re bringing sustainability, wellbeing and design together to create a more considered way of living. Polestar’s cars combined with Long Lane’s hospitality allows these shared values to be brought to life.”

For both brands, the partnership is being presented as a way of joining up their ideas around sustainability and luxury rather than treating either as a separate add-on. Long Lane’s emphasis is on nature, health and social connection, while Polestar is bringing its electric cars, design and materials into the mix, with the pair saying the aim is to show how those themes can work together in everyday life.

Harrison Hide, co-founder of Long Lane, says: “Long Lane was built on the belief that wellbeing shouldn’t be something you retreat to, it should be how you live. Polestar shares that same conviction: that progress and conscious living aren’t a compromise, they’re the future of premium experience. Bringing their electric fleet into daily life at Long Lane means our members can move through the countryside the same way they move through the club: with intention, and without leaving anything behind.”

The tie-up will now develop through the planned quarterly events, while the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 take up their new role ferrying Long Lane members and hotel guests around the estate and surrounding countryside.
