Polish Prime Minister announced that the 2025 state budget will allocate a record-high amount for defense spending. The budget, described as 'generous,' aims to support further economic growth in the country.

With a total of 186 billion zlotys ($48.5 billion) earmarked for defense, the government is prioritizing national security, especially given the proximity to the conflict in Ukraine. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this investment, stating that there is no turning back from the commitment to bolster defense capabilities.

The planned defense expenditure for 2025 represents a significant increase compared to the previous year, amounting to over 4% of Poland's GDP. Poland's leadership in NATO and the European Union is underscored by its robust defense spending.

Deputy Defense Minister revealed that defense spending in 2025 is projected to reach 4.7% of GDP, reflecting the government's firm stance on enhancing military readiness. The country's ongoing support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia has also led to substantial acquisitions of military equipment from the U.S. and South Korea.

Despite the substantial investment in defense, Poland's economic growth is forecasted to remain strong, with a projected growth rate of 3.9% for the upcoming year.
