Plea for 'important' shops in Nottingham town where there is 'nothing left'

Disgruntled residents have slammed the number of store closures in recent months in their town. Boots, Hobsons and Natwest are just some of the businesses that have closed their doors for good this year - and residents say there is "no life" there anymore.

Rumours also recently spread on Facebook that Bulwell's British Heart Foundation store was shutting down. However, a spokesperson for the organisation recently denied this.

While The Cash Monkey, a pawnbrokers where second-hand goods can be traded, is due to open in Commercial Road, residents are calling for more "important" places to shop. One woman called for more clothes stores for older women, stating that older people are less likely to be able to travel into the city.
