The PlayStation 6 could debut with a price tag north of $1,000 (£800), according to a much-discussed leak about Sony's next flagship console that has sharpened worries over how expensive gaming hardware is becoming.
Chatter around the PlayStation 6 has been building quietly for months even as Sony continues to extend the life of the PlayStation 5. The PS5 launched in November 2020 and is now nearing six years on sale. Sony has publicly said it is investing in its next-generation PlayStation platform, but it has not announced a release date or price for any new console.
