In order to beat the Baltimore Ravens defense, the New England Patriots were going to need a little bit of magic. Quarterback Mac Jones was able to deliver it on a crucial fourth-down play in Sunday’s home opening loss.
Jones initially ran to his right in hopes that there would be something open on that side. Seeing nothing there, he was able to circle back and complete a pass to tight end Jonnu Smith on the opposite side of the field. It kept the sticks moving, although the Patriots weren’t able to do anything with it.
It was one of the highlights for Jones on what was a frustrating day for the quarterback overall.
This is a hell of a play by Mac Jones. Keeps the play alive with his feet and converts the fourth down.

This was clearly one of the bright spots in what was a disappointing day for the Patriots. However, it does provide some hope for the future as Jones works hard to steadily improve in only his second NFL season.
