Plans for a controversial new office block and hotel in the west of Edinburgh have been recommended to go ahead despite local objection.
20 Haymarket Yards was earmarked in Autumn 2022 to be demolished and replaced with a modern office block and separate hotel, as well as the inclusion of a café, landscaping and active transport links.
The existing vacant three-storey office block was built in 1998 and was formerly a HMRC tax office. Proposed plans for the redevelopment of the site would incorporate a much bigger ten-storey building and a separate nine-storey hotel with associated landscaping.
