Plans for an 811-apartment scheme on St Vincent’s Hospital grounds in Fairview have been lodged with Dublin City Council.
The proposed development will consist of 494 apartments for sale and 317 build-to-rent apartments. Among the 811 residential units, 387 will have one bedroom, 349 will have two bedrooms, while 57 will be three bedroom apartments.
There will also be 18 studio apartments. The units will be across nine buildings between two and 13 storeys-high, located at Richmond Road and Convent Avenue.
The existing hospital building will be partially demolished and altered to provide residential amenity areas, a gym, a cafe, and co-working space. There are also plans for a retail unit, a community library, a childcare facility and a community hall.
As well as that, the redevelopment will see a new 73-bedroom mental health facility for the hospital. According to the Irish Times, the hospital board will hand over 13 acres to British property development firm Royalton Group in order to fund the new facility, which is expected to cost around €50 million to build.
