Plans to build an apartment block in a Tesco car park have been scaled back. A planning application to build the flats in a section of the superstore's car park off Parrs Wood Lane in East Didsbury has now been formally lodged.
The proposed development dubbed Blackbird Yard now features 75 flats, down from 95, in a six-storey block – one floor fewer than first proposed. It follows feedback from residents who took part in a public consultation.
In response to the concerns raised by the local community, an extra nine parking spaces have also been included in the plans, up from an initial 27. Developer Dandara Living promises to create 'high quality homes' in a 'sustainable development' that 'positively contributes to the local area'.
