A passenger plane carrying 36 passengers and crew crash-landed, flipped on its back and caught on fire at an airport in Somalia's capital Mogadishu on Monday, authorities have said.
Astonishingly, no-one was injured, despite video from the scene showing the plane upside down after having flipped over on landing, with black smoke and flames billowing into the air as fire trucks approached the runway.
The Fokker-50 aircraft operated by Somalia’s domestic carrier, Jubba Airways, was arriving in the capital from the inland city of Baidoa and crashed around 11.30am, according to a statement from Jubba Airways.
