Television presenter Piers Morgan has hit out at Russian president Vladimir Putin for his mourning statement to Queen Elizabeth II.
The long-reigning monarch died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Thursday, September 8. In a statement, President Putin said: "For many decades Elizabeth II rightfully enjoyed her subjects’ love and respect as well as authority on the world stage.”

Piers Morgan has had some strong words to send the Russian leader, after he made his own sadness known about the Queen's passing. Morgan named the Queen as "the greatest there’s ever been” and the “very essence of being British”, reports the Independent..
The former Good Morning Britain host then said of Putin's tribute: "You know who just put a statement out, Vladimir Putin extends his condolences to Britain for irreparable loss.
“You know what Putin, you can stick your condolences.”
He continued: “It’s the loss you’re causing to lives in Ukraine that I’m concerned about. So stick your condolences where the sun don’t shine.”
Russia continues their invasion of Ukraine, with US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, saying to Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelensky that the war is at a “pivotal point”.
