Piers Morgan 'heartbroken' by Cristiano Ronaldo's baby loss as celebs react to tragedy

Piers Morgan has led celebrity tributes after Cristiano Ronaldo announced the sad passing of his son on Monday evening in a statement released on behalf of himself and long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez.

The Manchester United footballer said that the baby boy was one of twins, his second and third children he shares with Georgina.

The couple posted a statement on social media in which they shared the tragic news.

It read: "It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It's the greatest pain any parents can feel.

"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness."

They continued: "We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all the care and support.

"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

Thousands of fans, footballers and celebrities shared their love and support for Cristiano and Georgina in the wake of their news, with former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers among the first to respond.

He wrote: "Heartbreaking news. My deepest condolences to you and all your family."
