Piers Morgan claps back at 'bragging' remarks as he shares insight into Hollywood dinner with showbiz pals

Piers Morgan wasted no time in responding to one of his social media followers who called out his 'bragging' as he enjoyed a fancy dinner with some very familiar faces. The controversial TV star and journalist has jetted off to Hollywood for his Easter break and wasn't alone in making the trip to Los Angeles.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week Piers shared a selfie of himself alongside Amanda Holden, her new Britain's Got Talent co-star Burno Tonioli and Gary Lineker. "Midnight in Hollywood.. and opinions are flying," the 56-year-old typed alongside the snap.

He then gathered more of his celebrity mates for a meal at the Sunset Tower Hotel with Amanda bagging a seat at the table with her model daughter Lexi, 16, as did Bruno and Gary while Piers also invited his son Spencer along. And they weren't the only guests.

Amanda's Heart Breakfast co-star Ashley Roberts was also pictured, as was singer James Arthur. "Two pop stars, two judges (well, three, technically), Britain’s most notorious opinion-expresser (not me), a model, a sports journalist, and a showbiz manager," Piers typed alongside the star-studded image.

He then added: "My kinda dinner party." But among the first comments was one of Pier's followers accusing him of 'always bragging'. But responding, he typed back: "That’s the whole point of Instagram, if you don’t like it, unfollow me."

And fans were also quick to defend the former Good Morning Britain host. @gilbroon replied: "Strange response to an INSTAGRAM post." @tracey_fellowes posted: "If you are posting on instagram you want people to look and like so it is all about being showy really."

@debbiepeyton said: "Jeezo, all the people on here being nasty, why follow him if you clearly can’t stand him? Very strange. @lraff16 commented: "I’m not being funny.. but isn’t insta a photo & video sharing app. Great photo guys." @ljc2020 shared: "Why do people follow you and then slag you off?! If I don’t like someone I’m not remotely interested in their Instagram."
