Arsenal have enjoyed a perfect start to the Premier League season but face their biggest test so far when they face Manchester United this weekend.
Mikel Arteta's side have picked up five wins from five and currently sit top of the table following victories against Crystal Palace, Leicester, Bournemouth, Fulham and Aston Villa. It's not just on the pitch where the Gunners have found success, with technical director Edu having secured five new summer signings so far as Arsenal's transfer spending has breached the £100million mark for a second successive year.
Gabriel Jesus has had the biggest impact out of the new arrivals, scoring three goals and providing a further three assists in his opening five Premier League appearances. football.london understands the Gunners are pursuing a deal for Villa star Douglas Luiz on Deadline Day following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny as Arteta looks to reinforce his squad heading into a busy period of fixtures, starting with United this weekend.

Club captain Martin Odegaard and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale picked up knocks during the win over Villa as injuries stay to hamper Arteta's preferred selection, with Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner potentially being needed to deputise if they are absent for a period of time. Partey's thigh injury is not thought to be serious, whilst Elneny suffered a hamstring injury in the win against Fulham last week and is set to miss a number of games for the Gunners.
Arsenal are yet to play what is considered a 'top six club' with their biggest test so far coming against United this weekend. Erik ten Hag's side have won their last two games after turning a corner following his decision to drop superstar striker Cristiano Ronaldo and captain Harry Maguire.
Arteta will be hoping his side can continue their fine form and take all three points from the game against United after having tasted defeat in their last trip to Old Trafford. Ahead of the game, Piers Morgan and Gary Neville have agreed a huge £1000 bet that depends on the outcome of the clash.
Neville responded to Morgan on Twitter after the latter posted a tweet urging the Gunners to sign West Ham star Declan Rice if the club are to be serious Premier League title contenders. Neville replied: "You’ll get done at Old Trafford Sunday! Forget the title."
The response resulted in Morgan offering a £1000 bet with the loser donating the money to charity, whilst a draw would see them both donate £500 each. It is set up to be a huge fixture on Sunday, with both sides desperate to come out on top in the historic rivalry.
